Beth Burns is the type of coach that could get Quis and I to run through a brick wall for her...and niether of us are particularly tough. So just imagine what she can do with highly motivated athletes. Actually, you don't have to imagine because she's doing it right now.
For the second year in a row the Aztecs hae advanced into the 2nd round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, and all of us her at Channel 4 are stoaked. Burns has taken this program from a perennal cellar dweller to one of the premiere teams in the Mountain West...again.
You see, as I'm sure most of you already know, this is the second stint on the Mesa for Burns. Her first tenure lasted from 1989 to 1997 and she took the Aztecs from worst to first again...or for the first time. You know what I mean.
The point is we salute her and wish the ladies lots of luck tomorrow night vs. West Virginia.
